“When you put your gifts out there is no limit to the opportunities that will come to you I help people design their lives and their homes I love what I do I dig from a place of love.” Lauren Lake
Lauren Lake is a renowned attorney, legal expert and the judge we have all come to know from TV’s hit syndicated courtroom series, “Lauren Lake‘s Paternity Court.” She built a prominent law career as a member of the New York, New Jersey, and Michigan bar with a concentration in family law, criminal law, and entertainment law.
In addition to her own success, Lauren has helped numerous young African-American women through the Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network (WEEN), which Lake co-founded, to promote the positive portrayal of women in entertainment and society by creating mentoring and outreach programs.
In a recent interview I learned some amazing things about Lauren Lake. She’s very talented, fair, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and their families. Lake was born and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. She has worked in in radio, had her own TV show on HGTV, wrote books, co-founded an organization, and so much more. She was pretty down to earth when I spoke with her so let’s go inside the interview with TV Paternity Court Judge Lauren Lake.
Each of the cases seem very touching in some way or another so the first question I asked was related to the show. Was there a case you recall that stuck with you after the cameras stopped rolling?
“In season 2 there was a little boy whose parents had sturggled with drugs and relationships. The family did not have active utilities it was clear the focus was not on the child. The paternity results revealed the gentlemen was the father. After the show I followed up with producers to see how the young man was doing, but the producers lost contact after trying to locate the family. This case really stuck with me for a long time after the show was taped I worried a lot about that young man and his future”.
Loyal Lauren Lake fans wanted to know what plans does she have for the future as it relates to her success?
Her response to this question was “In the future I hope to do more radio because I love being on the air. Right now the website is undergoing a relaunch and I have the jewelry line underway. You can also expect my book and inspirational CD’s soon.
Here are a few quotes from Lauren Lake’s interview in regards to living the limitless life, overcoming obstacles, and her thoughts when it comes to pushing through hardships.
“Honor the fact you will encounter challenges, but also honor the fact that you have the ability to overcome obstacles”.
“I may not have the answer this morning, but if I get up and show up I can overcome anything or any perceived obstacle. Everyday may not feel like it’s your best day, but it is because you have another day to live and to learn”.
“There is always someone watching your light shine which gives them inspiration to shine their light”.

I love her show! This is really neat that you got to interview her. She seems like a genuinely caring person, especially as a judge. I have often wondered if they ever think about certain cases once a case is done / dismissed.

I’m sure she sees a lot of challenging cases in her career. Dealing with paternity you know children are involved and you hope that in the end they fair well. Enjoyed hearing her story – go Judge!
