Anti Gravity Martini Recipe From The Book “Cocktail Chameleon” by Mark Addison

Bar Tools
Spherical ice mold
Paring knife
Two 2-oz food syringes
2 small plates
Cocktail shaker
Glassware
12-oz double old-fashioned
Yield
5 oz, serves 1

Ingredients
1/2 oz. grenadine
Red Pop Rocks, or sugar crystals
2 oz. vodka
1 1/2 oz.
white cranberry juice
1/2 oz. blue curacao
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice

Directions

1.Fill the ice mold with cold water and freeze for 3 hours, until two-thirds of the water in the mold remains liquid.
2.Remove ice sphere from a mold and, using a sharp knife, carefully make a hole in the seam just large enough to insert the tip of a food syringe.
3.Insert the tip to drain out the remaining water, then place frozen sphere back in the mold and return to freezer.
4.Pour the grenadine on one small plate and the Pop Rocks on
another.
5.Dip the rim of the glass in the grenadine and coat with Pop Rocks.
6.Fill a shaker with ice, add remaining ingredients and shake well.
7.Place in freezer for 20 minutes, bringing close to freezing.
8.Remove from freezer and shake vigorously then draw vodka mixture into both syringes.
9.Remove ice sphere from the freezer and place it, hole facing up, in the prepared glass. 10.Slowly fill with the contents of the syringes.
11.Using a muddler or the handle of a dinner knife, carefully crack open the ice ball, being very careful not to break the glass

  32. This is one of the best looking drinks I’ve ever seen. I’m not even much of a drinker these days, but I would definitely choose this one if someone mixed this for me! Yum!
