Sweet Potato Fries Recipe

I can’t tell you how much I love sweet potatoes when you eat unprocessed, and you try to avoid additives and chemicals, it can be difficult to find sweet things that don’t have anything bad in them. But Sweet potatoes are the answer to my cravings! Not only are they awesome when it comes to health, but they taste so sweet, you could really consider it dessert if you wanted.

Mashed, fried, baked, sweet potatoes work the same way as regular bakers, reds, yukons, and fingerlings, but they are healthier, often times harder, and just as versatile as any other potato. Today we are going to be going over how to make baked sweet potato fries. It’s an easy process, but there are some tricks to get them just right!

Ingredients

2 medium to large sweet potatoes

½ tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

½ tsp paprika

½ tsp garlic powder

2 tbs olive oil

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees set the timer for 8 minutes.

2. Peel your potatoes, make sure to clean them well if you prefer leaving the skin on. Either option is fine, but they should be clean before prepping.

3. Cut the potato lengthwise, making each slice about ¼ of an inch thick.

4. Then cut those pieces again lengthwise, again, about ¼ of an inch thick.

5. Toss with oil, salt, garlic powder, black pepper and paprika.

6. Cook in 2 or 3 batches, without overcrowding the pan 8 minutes, turning half way.

How you cut them also varies the cooking time.

Sweet potatoes tend to be softer than most when they are cooked when baking them the outside will be crispy, but the inside may still be a bit soft, that’s entirely normal! To help with this, you can flip them halfway through at 15 minutes cooking time to aid in giving them a bit more of a crisp.

Once they come out of the oven you will then be able to enjoy your fresh, healthy and tasty sweet potato fries! They go great with homemade chicken nuggets and they are so flavorful that they don’t even need any dipping sauce… Enjoy!
