A Food Tasting Adventure “Welcome to ‘Burgh Bits & Bites” #LovePGH

While visiting Pittsburgh we embarked on a fun-filled food tasting adventure. No need to drive this experience is a walking tour filled with good food and history. We had a blast and made some new friends along the way while discovering old friendships from back at home.

We choose the Brookline Burgh Bits & Bites tour which is in a nice neighborhood just 15 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh many call it an undiscovered gem. During the tour we had the chance to sample a true diversity of foods from many regions; pita from a Mediterranean bakery, tacos from an authentic Mexican Carniceria, and pizza baked in Bloomfield/Little Italy style.

First Stop Pitaland, owned by Lebanese expat, Joe Chahinec shared his story with us before showing us the apparatus that turns out 2,000 pitas an hour and the kitchen where fresh baklava is prepared daily. The Baklava was hands down excellent! You’ll have the chance to watch the whole process from dough making to final product bagged packed up.
