When traveling I always looking for local wineries to explore and enjoy some downtime. Pittsburgh Winery is nestled in the cellar of an old bank building, with onsite production, storage and seating among the barrels of aging wines.
We enjoyed the tasting experience during my recent visit and was impressed with the different wines we tried. Pittsburgh Winery blends their wines with grapes used from California’s and South America’s wine regions. The wines from crisp whites to some of the best dry reds. We fell in love with the wine cellar downstairs which has a seating area, huge bar, and a stage for entertainment.
I prefer sweeter wines so I ended up taking a bottle of White Blend 2015 to go it’s a soft and supple very smooth and well blended with Dry Riesling 74%, Chardonnay 24% and a pinch of Sauvignon Blanc 2%, this wine is slightly off-dry, with tropical fruit and floral notes and a richness and body that extend through the finish.
King Thrifty enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Merlot 2015, Malbec 2014, Cabernet Sauvignon – Suisun Valley, Primitivo 2014 RESERVE all dry wines, but very well blended. We’re looking forward to our next visit and has planned to join the wine club once we decided which option is best for us.
