My Reflection On The Movie Tiger Rising

“Everything to me when it comes to doing these kinds of films is an homage to my mom. I’ve watched my mom say the right thing to students to change their outlook and change their direction.”

Queen Latifah on the affect her mother’s passion as a teacher has on her decision for picking her roles such as Willie May in THE TIGER RISING, but, also, how she saw that passion affect her mother’s students.

We would like to honor Rita Owens, mother of Queen Latifah, this month for the inspiration she has provided not only to her daughter, but all her students her life touched.

When I came across this post I had to share. The movie Tiger Rising had some power scripts. Things that touched me spiritually as someone that is still grieving. At the same time my focus is making sure my Uncle is smiling down as he watch over us.

Synopsis

When 12-year-old Rob Horton discovers a caged tiger in the woods near his home, his imagination runs wild as his life begins to change in the most unexpected ways. With help from a wise but mysterious maid and the stubborn new girl at school, Rob navigates through childhood memories, heartache and wondrous adventures.

The film moved slow, but at a pace where it allowed you to feel each and every emotion. I recommend you take sometime this weekend and enjoy Tiger Rising with your family.
