Remembering Haiti on the 6th Anniversary of the Earthquake

January 12, 2010, an earthquake measuring a catastrophic 7.0 on the Richter scale hit the Haiti one of the most impoverished nation. The already weak infrastructure of Haiti was more or less obliterated. Aid came in droves, but very little of it reached the actual citizens.

Each year after Thanksgiving my husband and I prepare a fruit and nut bowl for our holiday table centerpiece. We normally use a solid old brown wooden basket and add a red bow.
