What a magical night I couldn’t have written it if I was told in advance how amazing it would be. Whimsical and bright with music bumping through the speakers while celebrity interviews lined one side of the carpet and on the other side was 25 Bloggers looking find the perfect place to capture their photo moment. The space felt warm and calming but cheerful.

Celebrities like Chris Bosh, Martin Lawrence, Tracey Ellis Ross, Megan Good and her husband, the cast Blackish, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Director Ryan Coogler, Beyonce, Issa Rae and many more were in attendance.

From The Premiere To The After-party

Three weeks earlier I attended the Black Panther world premiere and interviewed members of the cast so when I bumped into Winston Duke I was surprised he remembered me.  He gave us all a warm welcome hug and was very polite when asked to take a quick selfie we chatted for a minute and I went on my marry little way. As I veered across the room I could see Oprah, Ava, Storm Reid, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling surrounded by friends, family, and other celebs so I didn’t want to bother them. Instead I took a moment to grab a bite to eat the food was delicious and the beverage was so refreshing. The DJ was spinning nothing but good music. There was photo ops and booths to grab gifts that were reserved for all attendees throughout the event space.

After a round of selfie’s, I took a seat to people watch I was in awe Black Excellence filled the room. There were so many successful people that looked like me all gathered to support something positive. Watching Ava DuVernay made my night this woman deserved her shine her aura was glowing. I was fully inside my heart was inspired! A few times I pinched myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. What a magical night a moment in time and in history I will always remember just writing this brought tears of excitement to my eyes.

From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” an epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love.

Through one girl’s transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light. Meg Murry is a typical middle school student struggling with issues of self-worth who just wants to fit in. The daughter of two world-renowned physicists, she is intelligent and uniquely gifted, as is Meg’s younger brother, Charles Wallace, but she has yet to realize it for herself. Complicating matters is the mysterious disappearance of Mr. Murry, which has left Meg devastated and her mother broken-hearted.

Charles Wallace introduces Meg and her fellow classmate Calvin to three celestial beings (Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who) who have journeyed to Earth to help search for their father, and together they embark on their formidable quest. Travelling via a wrinkling of time and space known as tessering, they are transported to worlds beyond their imagination where they must confront a powerful evil force. To make it back home to Earth, Meg must face the darkness within herself in order to harness the strength necessary to defeat the darkness rapidly enveloping the Universe.
