Hotel Trianon Rive Gauche located just steps from the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg, or the Luxembourg Garden 6th arrondissement of Paris also known as the Saint-Germain-des-Pres and the Latin Quarter. A charming boutique with only 110 rooms just a short 5-minute walk from the train and metro station.

We couldn’t have chosen a better hotel for our seven-day escape to Paris we were close to cafes, restaurants, and shopping. The area was very safe and quiet with a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower depending on your suite. We choose a king suite with a balcony on the second floor. The staff was wonderful from the day we checked in until the morning we checked out. Our stay was very comfortable and quiet although we had to adapt to a few things. Our suite was perfect for us, but smaller than usual which is normal for hotels in Paris we loved having a balcony.

The elevator was very small so we decided to take the stairs. The lobby was well decorated, but small it contains the business center, a couple of chairs, and couches for guest to lounge. There is a nice size breakfast area that also contains several wine refrigerators and other adult beverages during their stay. Breakfast was prepared and served each morning the sausage, fresh squeezed orange juice, and the cappuccino machine was a hit. In the evenings there was a dessert and beverage display available for guest to indulge on local pastries made fresh from a bakery not far from the hotel. I know many of you are wondering about the wifi connections during our stay we didn’t experience any issues, with that said I recommend bringing your firestick in Paris CNN is the only English channel.

Most monuments or museums were a 30-45 minute walk which was the perfect exercise for us each day. Here is a list of monuments, gardens, and culture related attractions within walking distance:

  • Musee Delacroix: 10 minutes walking distance. Closed on Tuesdays

  • The Louvre: 15 minutes walking distance. Closed on Tuesdays

  • Pont des Arts: 15 minutes’ walk

  • Musee de Cluny (Museum of the middle ages): 5 minutes’ walk, closed on Tuesdays

  • Notre-Dame: 10 minutes’ walk, open daily

  • Orsay Museum: 20 minutes’ walk, closed on Mondays

  • Pantheon: 5 minutes’ walk, open daily

  • Luxemburg garden: 5 min’ walk

  • NHM (national museum of natural history): 15 min’ walk or 10 min Metro

  • Tuileries garden: 20 min’ walk

  • Sorbonne University: 2 minutes walk

  • Montmartre: 30 minutes by Metro, open daily

  • Paris city hall: bus 10 minutes

  • The Eiffel Tower: 40 minutes’ walk, 30min by Metro

  • The Champs Elysees: 45 minutes’ walk or 30min by Metro

Shopping:

  • Galeries Lafayette & Printemps Haussmann: Direct bus 21 or 27. Closed on Sundays

  • Le Bon Marche: 15 min’ walk or 10 min Metro. Closed on Sundays

  • Christian Louboutin shop: 15 min’ walk, 38-40 rue de Grenelle. Closed on Sundays

  • Louis Vuitton: 10 min’ walk, Place Saint-Germain Des Près. Closed on Sundays

  • Sephora beauty shop: 5 min’ walk, 79 boulevard Saint-Germain. Closed on Sundays

  • Fauchon delicatessen: Place de la Madeleine, 25 min by bus. Closed on Sundays

  • Nike Store 49 Boulevard Saint-Michel; 2 min walk. Closed on Sundays

One evening after a long day of sight-seeing my fiance and I celebrated our wedding engagement earlier that day he proposed to me at the Eiffel Tower. I purchased champagne from the front desk and we enjoyed the evening with a glass of champagne. The breeze was perfect off the balcony a perfect night for us. For seven days we made Hotel Trianon Rive Gauche Paris our home away from home. Please visit hotels website for a list of special offers that included breakfast without prepaying. I recommend this location to anyone visiting Paris for the first time or returning it is a great location and very convenient when trying to get around and sightsee or just kick back and relax.

  9. We absolutely LOVED our trip to Paris this past June. It looks like you had a marvelous time, as well! Did you happen to get to the top of Notre Dame? That was one of our favorite experiences. Your hotel looks like it was amazing. I am definitely going to mark that one down since we would like to plan another trip back.

  31. It does look like a beautiful place. But i would be driven nuts by only having CNN as my only option as well. Would definitely find a fire stick in handy. Nice that they had such good wifi though. My boss was just there and had an awful time getting any wifi.

  44. Well, congratulations, and what a romantic place to get engaged! I think I commented on another of your posts about how my Dad proposed to my Mom in a tulip garden in Holland, when they were stationed over in Germany during the 1950s (Mom in the Air Force and Dad in the Army). It’s amazing to read about your trip and see the pictures – and see that you have visited places I’ve only read about!
